Training while you're pregnant is about empowerment. I want you to understand how your body is changing and how you can maintain your strength while allowing your body to adapt and open. It is about learning different techniques for alleviating pain, becoming mindful of how you carry your growing baby. Appreciating the need to rest and recover, breath and meditate as well as maintain muscle and increase your heart rate with cardio training. It is about sharing your fears and your experiences. It's about fully embracing this amazing time in your life.

Post-natal

I feel passionately about helping women rediscover their bodies and confidence in their bodies post birth. With my first baby I had no advice and did it all wrong, giving myself an umbilical hernia! Since then I have completed many courses include and pre and post natal qualification with The Centre for Women's Fitness, the Advanced Post-Natal Wellness Practitioner with Burrell Education and the Diastasis Rectus Abdominus course with Diane Lee. And best of all I have worked with over 100 post-natal clients.

‘From the Greek words ‘menos’ meaning month and ‘pause’ meaning to cease. But such simplistic origins mask the complexity of this 3rd age that impacts all women in different ways.’
Finally momentum seems to be building around this incredibly important topic, which until recently was hushed up, swept under the carpet, basically ignored. I have seen the impact that the menopause can have on both the mind and on the body of my clients and friends and I have been studying hard to learn more about all the things we can do including movement, nutrition, stress reduction, soft tissue work, breath, sleep, education and empowerment to make this a positive experience and a bit of an easier ride. I am currently completing the 3rdAge certification with Burrell Education as well as The Female Health Masterclass Series with Michelle Lyons and in 2022 I will hold a series of online and in person workshops on subjects around the menopause.

'Change happens through movement and movement heals,' said Joseph Pilates and this was exactly my experience when I discovered Pilates after pregnancy left me with a Diastasis Recti and Umbilical hernia. Pilates has helped me feel stronger, more balanced and more aware of how I use my body to move through space. It's addictive. It's rewarding. You concentrate so hard that it provides a mental break as well as a challenging work out.
I am now a Level 3 Peak Pilates trained Classical instructor and I welcome everybody to my studio, absolutely no experience or fitness required. I have a fully equipped studio with Reformers, Towers, Mats, Ladder Barrels, High Chairs and more. Please get in touch if you'd like to train privately, with one other or join a group of three.
